PRODUCT USER GUIDE: Screw head & features
There is a wide variety of plastic screws, each designed for different uses. On ajile.biz you will find a large selection within our plastic fasteners section, including round head screws, knurled screws and nuts, hex head screws, countersunk head screws, as well as wing screws and headless screws.
This wide range of screws is ideally complemented by many models of plastic washers and nuts.
The fixing and finishing washers (flat washer, large washer, cup washer) are most often also available in black, a rare and sought-after color.
The plastic nuts are also available in natural nylon color, meaning a milky white, and in black. Multiple shapes meet all assembly, fixing and electrical insulation needs: hex nut, knurled nut, flange nut, wing nut (butterfly nut), cap nut, and also operating nut.
Countersunk head and round head screws are offered as slotted screws on ajile.biz. This screw drive is widely used in plastic fasteners. As fixing screws, their plastic composition is ideal for projects requiring lightweight components or resistance to corrosion and electrical insulation. Designed for manual tightening using a flat screwdriver, the slotted nylon screw maintains sufficient strength and allows a relatively high tightening torque. Beyond the screw drive, there are plastic screws particularly suited for fixing and assembly projects. To choose the ideal screw head that matches your needs, here is the description of each type.
Round head screws
Flat nylon round head screws DIN84 are generally intended for fixing an object. Plastic round head screws (cylindrical) are recommended when a large contact surface is required. A slotted round head screw is tightened manually using a screwdriver.
Countersunk head screws
Countersunk heads DIN963 are ideal when you want the nylon screw to sit completely flush in the support. Its head shape allows maximum tightening. This way, the plastic countersunk head screw does not protrude.
Hex head screws
Hex heads are designed to be tightened with a wrench. The contact surface with the fixed element is large, just like a round head screw, but it offers better resistance thanks to a higher tightening torque. These plastic screws can be sold in small and large sizes. On ajile.biz, you will find plastic hex head screws from 2 to 80 mm depending on the metric thread. Hex heads are available in diameters from M2 to M12.
M2: 3.2 mm wrench
M2.5: 4 mm wrench
M3: 5.5 mm wrench
M4: 7 mm wrench
M5: 8 mm wrench
M6: 10 mm wrench
M8: 13 mm wrench
M10: 17 mm wrench
M12: 19 mm wrench
Wing head screws
Very useful for assembly work, wing head screws, also called wing or fin screws, make it easy to tighten and loosen by hand, to adjust or lock parts.
At Ajile they are available in polyamide or in a mixed version: plastic head and metal thread for high mechanical strength.
Knurled head screws
Plastic knurled head screws provide better grip for easier tightening. Ideal for fixing objects, just like a round head screw. Knurled nylon screws are offered on ajile.biz in different sizes and threads.
Headless screws
The headless screw DIN1551 is a set screw used to connect two parts. As the name suggests, their role is to apply pressure on the part in order to prevent friction and sliding. On our online store, you will find slotted headless screws suitable for assembly.
A wide selection of fasteners is available on our online store specialized in hardware and plastic fasteners. The nylon screws offered by Ajile are ideal for all fixing, assembly and electrical insulation projects. For a tailored answer to your needs, you can order the desired quantity of plastic screws.
Plastic screws, high quality, corrosion-resistant, electrically insulating, lightweight and available in large quantities, are perfectly suited for professional use.
