Use of plastic fasteners

Screw light with Ajile plastic screws and order only the EXACT quantity you need for your project, no more…

What do we mean by “plastic” fasteners? There are actually several types, mainly differing in their resistance to certain chemical agents. In our case, we are talking about polyamide fasteners, better known under the commercial name of nylon fasteners.

Why on earth use plastic screws? Aren’t metal ones good enough? Well, that depends on what you want to do with them.

Plastic fasteners are lightweight, much lighter than their metal counterparts. Model makers will tell you: every gram counts in a model airplane.

Plastic fasteners are electrically insulating, which is why electricians and electronics specialists use them frequently. And they know what they are doing!

Plastic fasteners are perfectly resistant to corrosion, making them ideal for boats and other marine equipment.

They also offer excellent resistance to many chemical agents, another strong point against corrosion. The standard color, known as “natural”, is a milky white; however, more and more components are now available in black, offering a much better aesthetic finish.

The standard Ajile range includes the most common types of screws (slotted round head, hex head or countersunk head), nuts and washers, as well as more original items, notably knurled components. You will find a (very) wide range of sizes, but if you have a specific requirement, do not hesitate to contact us. That is also what being Ajile is about.
